Jacksonville has an unusually broad network of city-managed river, creek and ICW access. The verified public options below cover river, creek and ICW access without promising a catch at any one location.
County Dock on the St. Johns
Access: fixed public pier with limited parking. Its river setting is exposed to current and vessel traffic; keep handlines and legal traps close and attended.
Tommy Hazouri Sr. Park
Access: Julington Creek pier and ramp. This provides both walk-on and small-boat options in a tributary setting.
Palms Fish Camp / Clapboard Creek
Access: city-documented public docks near a tidal creek and the ICW. Confirm hours and whether the exact dock section permits your intended gear.
George Crady Bridge at Nassau Sound
Access: long bridge-fishing facility managed by Florida State Parks. It is a more exposed tidal location than a creek dock; current and weather deserve extra caution.
Florida blue crab rules
Florida currently has no recreational blue-crab minimum size, but has a daily volume limit, trap limit and registration/marking requirements for recreational traps. Traps may only be tended during legal hours and regional trap closures occur periodically. Verify the current FWC page before using anything beyond a handline or dip net.
Choose freshwater influence carefully
Blue crabs use brackish rivers, creeks and marsh edges, but recent rainfall can change salinity and move activity. Never set gear where it obstructs a ramp, dock use or navigation.
